I'm just curious to see what "stuff" the folks on this board have for making music. I look forward to reading the responses!

I have two guitars . . . which I play badly.

And a flute . . . because I thought it might be easier to play than a guitar (I was wrong).

I've pared down my gear to bare essentials since I've been broke lately and have not gigged for quite some time. At the moment I have:

ESP/LTD EX-3351D (Yes, the goofy looking one with the crap diamond plate on it). Replaced the HZs with a DiMarzio X2N in the bridge and FRED in the neck. I never play it these days though, since I don't play metal anymore.

Ibanez RG570

Ibanez RG470 with an Evolution in the bridge

Behringer V-amp

I'd like an ES-175, a real strat, and one of these days I need to turn the V-amp into a fully functional rack dealy.

Allrighty-then. I'm not at home and can't remember exact model numbers, yadda yadda, but....

Guitars:
1960 Gibson Melody Maker, customized with Shift2000 locking tremolo
19?? Yamaha that looks somewhat like a Les Paul Junior
197? Microfrets Signature

Amp (Earschplittenloudenboomer):
Dean Markley open back single 12" amp
2 x single 12" speaker cabinets

Rack:
Roland digital delay with 4 presets
Yamaha digital delay
Roland dual digital delay (2 delays in one rack unit, second one with stereo output)

Pedalboard:
Roland Boss digital hands-free tuner
Ernie Ball volume pedal
Roland Boss Overdrive
Ibanez Boss compressor/sustainer
Ibanez overdrive
'The Rat' overdrive (LOVE this mofo!)
control switches for the digital delays

The speaker cabinets used to be a single 2x12 Fender cab. Back when I was still on the road, I drove them with a 1963 Fender Bassman and a 1965 Fender Bandmaster until they finally gave up the ghost. I came out of the dual delay in the rack in stereo and ran one channel to each amp. Now everything collects dust except the Melody Maker and the Dean Markley amp. That's what I use to putter around with.

At home, however, I have:

A flute
A Traynor Bassman amp (tube) circa 1968 or so
Ibanez bass, early 70's
Canora bass (Fender knockoff), late 60's
Fender Stratocaster, 1970
Fender Jaguar, 1955

Good lawd, a '55 Fender Jaguar? I'm in love. :LilLove:

I had a 70s era Stratocaster for a number of years, until some dirtbag stole it. I loved that guitar. *sigh*

Allrighty then...

A Radio Shack amp(owned outright and they charged more than Guitar Center charges for a small Fender, but my mom bought it to replace a craptastic package deal amp so no complaints, it's plenty for practice)...

A crappy Harmony strat-style guitar. Crappy because it arrived with a cracked neck(finished on top of the crack so manufacturer knew it was a piece of crap before sending it out, was sealed and I think they glued it too), and the way the neck's built, it digs and cuts into the soft part of my hand(where thumb meets hand, and it's just ouchie). If that's not enough, action's high(and it's supposed to be for beginners, which is vile, a beginner doesn't know these things) and hurts like hell to try and learn anything on it...

One borrowed Fender Strat. It's MIM and yet it's good and solid(guess my friend got hella lucky). Nothing's falling off or anything.

Shared my crappy gear so others with crap can feel better about theirs' :). Oh and if I can get pinch harmonics out of a borrowed strat + radio shack amp(which I did last night, hit or miss, but was hella fun, managed to get several), then anything's possible.

It looks legit from the photo. Note the peghead, it's smaller in the older Strats. Starting around the 1970s, the bottom part of the head opposite the tuning pegs (where the company logo and model name is) got fatter. I believe that's when they started making them in Mexico. I'll see if I can find a pic for comparison ... here's a good 'un on the Fender site.

See how the bottom of the peghead is more curved, and the logo/name is curved as well instead of being straight as in the other one? That's a good indication you have a Mexican-made Strat.

Gawd I'm such a girlie-girl. Don't know anything about it, except it's sparkly and pretty. So I want it I think it's a new Jaguar hehehe haven't the foggiest what it does, but it's got extra shimmers and thing-a-ma-bobs + doo-hickies, so I want one :p.

Uhhh - I'm no musician, but I do have:

A pick belonging once to Ronny Woods' (he flung it into the audience at a 1994 Stones concert, and it landed in my eye);

A Taylor Hicks guitar pick and a stick Taylor used to play the cowbell.

60's Strat for under $500 Don't know if it's really what they think it is, but check it out.

During a time when musicians were altering, incinerating and evoking sounds never experienced or imagined by the folks at the Fender factory, rock music came into its own and the Stratocaster guitar became a countercultural symbol. The ?60s Stratocaster, with its rosewood fingerboard, multi-ply pickguard and vintage hardware, captures that amazing and groundbreaking chapter in Fender history.

This is surely a "reissue."

Please note: All items are on display in our store and may be subject to prior sale. To verify availability or for a complete description of the item, please contact the store listed

If it were truly made in the 1960's and priced under four digits it would fly out of the store at quite nearly the speed of light. I might be rushing to get it myself. Okay, maybe it's possible that's a real '60's strat, in which case the person who priced it has been fired.

I had a '75 sunburst strat, sold it in the early '90's for $500 when I needed the money, and thought of getting a similar one in the late '90's to replace it. The prices for '75 strats had gone into the $1,000 range. I shoulda bit the bullet, I just checked and they're closer to $2,000 now.

I have about five electric guitars and five acoustics. They're all in different stages of disrepair. I've been playing my Fernandes lawsuit strat lately, and the neck has developed a buzz on certain notes, apparently from a loose truss rod.

Rickenbacker double-neck 6/12. Just makes me drool. According to the site where I found the image, this baby sold for $5,495 US.
