There are other threads on this site that talk in detail about finding agents, so I won't duplicate what they say. (Personally, I found the agentquery. com site most helpful.)
But I assume you are asking about particular tips for memoir. I'd suggest just one additional thing. Along with searching for agents who represent memoir or autobiography, if there is another area in which your book fits (as so many memoirs do) I'd also look there. Nonfiction can often fit into multiple categories, and there's some feeling memoir has become a tougher sell without a strong platform. So if your book relates to travel to a particular place, facing an illness, picking up a musical instrument....well, it widens the possibilities.

Coming from a dirt poor family with an alcoholic parent who abused us kids growing up and still being able to make something of myself. and many other things along the way.
