All I see is gibberish.

There are three of them still there, at the top of the page. Snippets of phrases, and links. Lots of links.

I'm not sure how relavent this is--so if they cannot control this on thier website then please remove it here--but PA has porn on their reviews of authors that they have banned from their forums.

No, it's still there, and it's not gibberish, but I'm not clicking those links. God only knows whats on the other side.

This is on several author's sites, even ones who have not been banned. I have posted elsewhere to warn authors so they can get in touch with PA if they wish to do so.

NO! I would not suggest clicking on the links.

It makes me sad someone would do this to something I worked so hard on. It also makes me sad that PA's website is so fragile to allow people to do it. :e2cry:

It's just comment spam. It happens everywhere on the web where folks can post stuff. Blogs, messageboards, guestbooks -- everywhere.

Not a PA problem -- unless they refuse to monitor/moderate the review sections.

Someone refused to moderate the review section. If I could delete them, I would.

Not that it matters, but PA has even published some porn or at the least some explicit erotica, depending upon your definition, of course.

No, order my erotica! When I get it written, of course! ;)

I won't order their porn...lol.
It should be an interesting thread over there if one of the other PA writers actually reviews one of the PA porn books.

No doubt there will be a raised eyebrow or two in the PA gallery.
Perhaps even a gasp of dismay.

I'm told that they've published some detailed descriptions of sex with minors and some lip-smacking celebrations of rape.

it's not everywhere, it's only where unmoderated comments can be posted. Quite frankly, I think it's ridiculous to offer unmoderated commenting on any website. It's like offering free advertising to the scummiest businesses on Earth.

if I ran this joint I'd make it so a poster's first few posts are moderated and don't show up until a mod approves them. After one or two approved posts, the newbie can be taken off moderation. If spam is posted, it never shows up to any regular readers, and the account is blown to smithereens by a mod. I know that would prevent some of our most creative threads... maybe I WOULD let one or two post, but I'd edit the LINK first.

Someone refused to moderate the review section. If I could delete edit them, I would.
Yeah, me too. No telling where those links (http://spam.abuse.net) would end up going...

Shame on you for thinking of such things ;)
Just DON't write about wenches being ravished by pirates. Please.

It's spam. You'll find it all over the place, including on these forums.

Though, just out of curiosity, I posted a review on the site (I like cashews) and they didn't even have an image control to fight the spam -- so they'll most likely get much more of it.

What Southern? You surely didn't think I was straight laced, did you? That's no fun! YES I am straight for anyone with a dirty mind! LOL

No pirates or wenches, I promise~;)

There's more spam on mine this morning. Someone is hitting us hard. Some of my fellow PA authors have it on theirs too. It is embarassing more than anything.~

No. I don't want to ask them for anything. Most online buyers will go to Amazon or BN anyway, especially since PA raised their online prices. (They used to be cheaper.)

I made a new entry on the review page, check it out.

Considering the number of people who visit that site, it's kind of a non-issue. IMO.

Really? They raised their prices?

Willem's aircraft fuel bill must have arrived.

If you do email PA about the spam, they'll just demand an apology for emailing them to take down the porn.

I've been trying to get there from here to check mine, but it's down - or something is between me and PA.

Hmmm... maybe they've caught up on this thread and found out they had a problem. :) This IS where they come for all the news.

I'm not apologizing for anything, so I better not e-mail. :)

What would I apologize for? Busting my butt trying to sell a good book, but one that is too high. Ordering bookoo biz cards and handing them out everywhere including other states. Sitting through two humiliating book signings where my peers were selling bookoo books and I sold what...two? I should apologize for trying to "promote" this book on a one income household and telling everyone about it. Sure they want one until they hear the price. Maybe I should apologize for standing up for abuse and bullying on their boards in the name of what is right. I am frustrated and hurt to see such a good story weather a seven year death because it is up to me to beg and borrow to sell them. If I am guilty, then these are my sins.

The above was just some venting.

OK, I am done venting. I am reminded to never look back, only forward. Regrets and whining will get this author nowhere. I would advise other souls to do the same. :)

And yet another porn "review". I wonder why someone would pick out our book site. PA authors? I'm not accusing, just wonder who else would bother.

They're not reviews! They're comment spam. Nobody is posting them as reviews.

Why is someone picking your site? Because it's open. Those are posted by machines that look for places that take comments. It isn't anything personal.

What Uncle Jim said. Anyone who has a guestbook or a blog that allows comments fights this stuff to one degree or another. It's too bad PA doesn't monitor the reviews like they do the message board.
