Ten Percent of Nothing by Jim Fisher

AnneMarble

Many thanks to James Macdonald for recommending Jim Fisher's "Ten Percent of Nothing: The Case of the Literary Agent from Hell." 8) I got it this weekend (along with the DVD of Season One of Disney's Gargoyles), and I'm already several chapters in.

If you like true crime books, I'd suggest getting this book. Because it's book-length, it can go more deeply into who the scammers were, who the victims were, etc., than any article.

I remember seeing Jim Fisher's name on some of the sites I read when I first discovered Writer's Beware and other anti-scam sites. However, I don't remember the context. Did he have a separate web site or something? Or maybe I remember that some of the scam agents were frequently using his name in vain. :rolleyes Maybe that's how I knew Jim Fisher was respectable, because all the fee-charging agents loved cutting him down...

Yes, it's a fabulous book which entertains AND informs about the seedier side of the publishing business.
