Would you say "My life is more convenient now" or "That item of convenience has added to my life"? In other words, are things and options convenient or is it our life that is convenient?

Things and options are convenient. One's life is better because of conveniences (unless one is some kind of nutjob who enjoys struggle).

Maryn, at times inconvenient

Unless, of course, the Big Bad Baddie [sup](tm)[/sup] of your story finds that leaving you alive makes it more convenient for him to Perform Dastardly Deeds [sup](tm)[/sup] and pin the fault on you. In that case, your life is, indeed, "more convenient now".

The first, if it's what you mean. The second, if it's what you mean.
