I'm a Street Lit author and i would like some suggestions of books to read. I'm going to get Hoodlum by K'Wan, i've read most of Walter Dean Myer's books as well as Death Around The Corner by C-Murder. Any suggestions?

Hey Fellow New Yorker!

I suggest you search amazon. Look up "Hoodlum" and see the "suggestions" amazon provides. Looking at the reviews also helps to determine if the novel is your speed/style or not.
(I don't think there's a lot of street lit readers here IMHO.) Good luck with your work. :welcome:

As a(nother) fellow New Yorker and Urban Fiction writer, I'll overlook your being a Knick fan. <g>

The following is a shortlist, in no particular order, of some pretty good Urban Fiction:

Ann Petry "The Street"
Robert "Iceberg Slim" Beck "Trick Baby"
Donald Goines "Daddy Cool"
Chester Himes "If He Hollers Let Him Go"
Sister Souljah "The Coldest Winter Ever"
Solomon Jones "Ride or Die"
Solomon Jones "C.R.E.A.M"
Danielle Santiago "Little Ghetto Girl"

Those ought to keep you busy for a while. Also check out ghettoheat.com
Ghetto Heat is headquartered in Harlem, your neck of the woods, so you may want to consider getting in touch with them. Best wishes, and happy reading!

Ohhh Snap Gigi, you've heard of "The Street"? I found my copy at a thrift store. Couldn't finish it though (no offense). Too much detail and density IMHO.
