Why the heck doesn't the Sci Fi channel make it available On Demand, so I can watch Jason and Grant any time I want?

And why the hell isn't Tango on more episodes?

Discuss!

I love Ghost Hunters! I must admit I have a bit of a thing for Steve. What a cutie! :) I even DVR the re-runs to get my fix but I'm very excited the new season is starting next week! <jumps up and down>

I've actually been thinking about applying for a volunteer spot with one of our local paranormal investigative groups. I've always been fascinated by ghosts. My husband is like, "But... but... then you'll have to hang out with dead things. Doesn't that bother you?"

I said, "Ya know, I'm far more annoyed by the living than the dead."

And yes, Steve is a cutiepie too :)

Excellent! Stop by my wee ghostie blog for tips (if you need them, they're the oldest posts) and get busy, woman! We need more victims volunteers!

I've been searching for a group to join for nearly a year now! There's several in Michigan but the closest is still an hour away and they won't take new members. I've just been watching for new ones and hoping I can get in then. One group said I was welcome but I would have had to attend their monthly meetings and they were 2 hours away. <sigh> I just want to hunt ghosts. :)

Wednesday June 6th--New Season starts... Just hope, what's his face isn't on there...the one that thought he knew everything.

About a year and a half ago they came here to Raleigh (where I live) and filmed at Mordecai (pornounced mordakey) but the crew got food poisoning and left early..then they went down to Wilmington and filmed at the Battleship North Carolina.. pretty cool stuff

I've tried to watch Ghost Hunters (that's the one with the TAPS crew, isn't it? Roto Rooters by day, ghost hunters by night?) and I just don't like it. I mean, usually, almost nothing happens. A door might open, that's about it.

What I want to see is the bald guy reach into a closet or a hole or something and get yanked inside. Then there'd be all this screaming and blood, and loud evil voices, the house shaking, windows breaking, maybe the whole house splits in half.

If any of that stuff happend, I'd watch it every week.

I also don't like it when two of the crew starts talking about personal issues, like his relationship or something while they wait for something to happen. I mean, come on, that's just unnecessary.

OTOH, my wife loves the show and wants me to watch it. But, here's the weird thing: I've written a book about a guy who builds a machine to catch ghosts. (See the thread in Writing Novels, Post a line you love) He meets a group of ghost hunters (Hollywood Ghost Hunters is the name) and soon tags along on one of their investigations. It's a preliminary thing to see if further investigation is required.

The thing is, I don't want what happens in that show to influence what I write or rewrite. I don't want to feel as if I'm "copying" the show in any way.

You gotta see the first live one they did at the Overlook Hotel, or whatever it's really called, on Halloween. The doors DID open, and a glass shattered spontaneously, AND a table lifted off the ground.

THAT was the freakiest one ever. Oh, and the one in Tombstone, where the cable came off the fire alarm bell by itself, and the music that they heard on the audio.

I love them. I have to remember to DVR them again.

It was the Stanely Hotel and I agree it was pretty freaky. Especially hearing the little girls voice down in the tunnels or whatever.

I have to say another one of my favorites is the St. Augustine Lighthouse one. Seeing the shadow looking over the railing, pretty interesting.

AH! I just watched re-runs of both of these (I hadn't seen the lighthouse one before)...they both freaked me out!

That's what's great about Ghost Hunters over Most Haunted. The TAPS guys try hard to debunk their findings, so if they say they can't find an explaination, it's probably a true haunting. On Most Haunted, every little thing is absolute proof of a haunting...I've never seen anyone make such a big deal out of orbs! Gets on my nerves after awhile.

I think I remember reading an article about Most Haunted. Ghost Hunters focuses more on the professionalism and reality of paranormal investigations, but in the article it stated that Most Haunted is there more for the entertainment value than anything. So, yeah they would make a big deal out of orbs.

Heres the article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4500322.stm

Maybe it's just me, but I think the people on "Most Haunted" are quite possibly the most annoying cast on television.

Guy: Oh, oh, there's a presence here. A presence!!
Girl: A presence! Oh, it's evil. Evil!
Guy: Very evil! Stop, you're hurting me!
Girl: Bad! Very bad!

I just want to pass them a nice hot cup of STFU.

I don't watch Most Haunted, but I love Ghost Hunters and Steve is a cutie -

I was watching a DVD from Season 2 at the Myrtle Plantation the other night to get my fix - they caught a few voices and a lamp sliding veeerry slowly across a table.

All I kept thinking was "How cool would it be to be there??"

Step into my nightmare
I just found this thread.

My husband is a Ghost Hunters fanatic. We've got all the DVDs (his Christmas presents). We rush home from work on Wednesdays so we can see it.

Most Haunted--does that woman have to panic so much? She screams constantly. For people trying to hunt ghosts, they are the biggest wimps around. Constantly crying and screaming and carrying on. We quit watching it.

My husband loves stuff like that, but he's scared of places that might be haunted. Stuff like that creeps him out. Every time I mention going somewhere that's supposed to be haunted, he refuses. He's terrified of my grandmother's old house--so I insist we stay there when we go home to visit family. (cue evil laughter)

Love Ghost Hunters TOO!

And totally agree Steve is adorable!!

I think they had a major overhaul of crew at the end of last season.
Donna left as did a pile of other people. Is Tango still there?
That annoying as hell guy whose name escapes me right not (skinny guy with bad teeth who had some sort of drug problem I think? He had been fired and rehired a pile of times) Anway, he went off and formed his own ghost hunting group.

I havent seen any of the new season but I have heard that it seems staged compared to the last bunch.

You mean Brian? I know it will be more peaceful with him gone, but I still loved the 'Dude, Run!' portion of his personality. I'm curious about the new eps and if they do show more of the staging, because they already take some minor liberties. The ghostly happenings are real, but like any taped reality show, they will do another take for the 'stake out' or discussion part. Still, I enjoy the show and admire their professionalism, something other paranormal investigation shows don't always have.

Brian!!

That was driving me nuts! THANK YOU!
Yes, that him.
And "dude Run" has become something of a catch phrase now due to that episode! We say it all the time at my house!

I heard that the newer shows are a lot more "haunted" than the older ones leading fans to surmise that they are maybe caving to the desires of the studio and network rather than sticking true to the skeptics and scientist types we all know and love.

I, personally, will be totally disappointed if they sell out.

Why don't you just buy the series on DVD like we do?

I don't know about Tango, but why do they keep rehiring Brian? He's such a dope.

New season starts Next Wednesday, I believe. It irritates me how they break the season up over the year.
