Songs can evoke all sorts of memories and feelings in me. It doesn't necessarily have to be a great song, or even by some standards a good song, but something that I heard over and over and came to associate with good times. Therefore, my list includes, but isn't limited to (in no particular order):

Vehicle by the Ides of March
Sugar, Sugar by the Archies
In the Mood by the Glenn Miller Orchestra

Highway Song by Blackfoot
Look at Yourself by Uriah Heep
Soul Sacrifice by Santana (Woodstock version)

Joe's Garage - Frank Zappa

"Joe's Garage" is brilliant. I have it on a mix tape segueing into "Dad I'm in Jail" by Was Not Was.
Then there's Nico's version of Jackson Browne's "These Days."
My favorite Laura Nyro song is "Been on a Train."
My favorite Leonard Cohen song is "Famous Blue Raincoat."

Guess you can tell I like depressing songs.

I have varied taste... My favorites are George Jones (both with and without Tammy Wynette), Loretta Lynn, and Liza Minnelli.

George Jones:
I'll Give You Something to Drink About
The King is Gone
Honky Tonk Song
He Stopped Loving Her Today (classic...)
If God Met You (with Tammy Wynette)

Loretta Lynn
Hey Loretta
You Ain't Woman Enough
Fist City

Liza Minnelli
NY, NY
Sara Lee (singing about dessert...)
Don't Smoke In Bed
If You Hadn't, But You Did
I'm Glad I'm Not Young Anymore (the version that was written for her, not the original one from Gigi.)
