Okay, so I have this site bookmarked called, "So you want to sell a script?" And part of it is recent script sales to production houses.

Here's an interesting bit...The title didn't copy, but it's THE LOVELY BONES.

Monday, May 07, 2007
Logline:Story of Susie Salmon, a young girl who is murdered but continues to observe her family on Earth after her death. She witnesses the impact of her loss on her loved ones, while her killer skillfully covers his tracks and prepares to murder again.
Writer:Alice Sebold, Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens, Fran Walsh
Genre:Supernatural , Drama Saletype:Script , Novel
Studio: Dreamworks Pictures
Production Company:Film 4
Producer:Carolynne Cunningham, Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Aimee Peyronnet, Tessa Ross, Ken Kamins, Jim Wilson
Agent:Key Creatives
Manager:Nelson Felker
More:Jackson, Walsh and Boyens adapted Sebold's novel. Peter Jackson attached to direct.

So what do we think of this? Sounds promising to me...

Not usually up Jackson's ally, but I think he'd do well with the storyline. On the other hand, I despised the book so I won't be seeing the film.

Isn't this the plot of THE INVISIBLE which is in theaters right now?

Not sure, but the trailer seemed to present it as this story.

I read the book once, then listened to it on tape a few years later. I found it kind of slow, but I'll be interested to see how it turns out on film.

Jackson did Heavenly Creatures, so I don't doubt his ability to do a film like Lovely Bones. Plus it's a good change of pace for him, now that he's not doing the Hobbit.

What I'm thinking is how thrilled Alice Sebold must be to have Jackson (co-writing, once again, with Fran Walsh) making the film adaptation.

I might enjoy it as long as they delete one scene...

*spoiler alert*

I HATE the part where she possess her friend's body and has sex with her boyfriend. Ick. It robbed all sympathy I had for the character.

Sha, right?

Oh, and that site also says that there's a planned remake of CLASH OF THE TITANS, and a MUMMY3 (to take place in China and star Jet Li) in the works.
