How Many Posts Must a Person Post to Change Their Avatar?

Someone told me the magic number of posts in order to be able to use my own avatar is 50. I've spent most of the night here to reach that number, and I'm still not getting that option in the "Edit Avatar" field.

Does anyone know for sure?

I had the same question. Essentially, you are right, the majic number is 50, but you also have to have 10 rep points. Other posters give those to you based on what they think of your post. I just gave you a rep point, in no time at all you will have 10, then you can adopt a silly avatar of your choosing.

I understand it is 50.
But I seem to remember, back in the mists of time, I had to wait till the day after the magic 50 before I could change avatars Willy, and indeed, Nilly.

But I don't know, ask a Mod.

btw, I noticed while I was there that I have 20 rep points (I can hear you laughing, you know), but from only ten people. Do they come in pairs? And do you notice that both this post and the two below each say I have 50 posts? I thought all night that it wasn't counting them properly.

Edit Avatar: When you first sign up, you can choose an avatar from our collection. Once you reach 50 posts, though, as long as your reputation score is still 10 or above (everyone starts with 10 points), you'll become a Super Member and be allowed to upload your own custom avatar. PLEASE NOTE: It takes the board a couple of hours to reset itself and realize that you've become a Super Member, so please don't worry if you're not immediately able to upload an avatar. Avatars must be no larger than 80 by 80 pixels for regular members. (Benefactors and mods get some extras; I'll tell you about that in a minute.)

I'm not that new. I just don't post very often. It took me until now to figure out WTH you're talking about. Now I get it. That's the avatar from my blog. Hopefully, it will keep people from confusing me with the other fifteen Southern Writers.
