She decided to

her doll house
and visit her

aunts across the
wide Pacific Ocean.

red checked cape
and packed her

four miniature sandwiches
all neatly wrapped
in willow leaves.
Then she began
a paw-written note
to bid farewell
and leave instructions
for the care
and feeding of
her six little
bonsai trees. With
excitement she trod
through the dark
taking care to
not wake up
her landlord, who
slept in the
walnut shell, beneath
a walnut tree.
SMACK! she collided
with a big
papaya. Her tail
curled reflexively around

walnut boat for
crossing the River
of Dreams when
my crushed leg
