I'll agree with the Matrix films.

Harry Potter films I can take or leave, mainly because of the girl who plays Hermione. I just want to smack her chops, the smug little...anyway.

Any horror films. They just don't scare me, because I know they're fiction. I just laugh.

'Comedies' starring Jim Carrey.

So it's not so much particular films, as the type. I hear you on the Star Wars films too. I mean...*yawn*

I realise as a man almost 30, I'm breaking the law by not liking Star Wars, but...well, I can't pretend I care.

I did like them when I was a kid, but no longer.

Maybe I should start a 'crappy/embarrassing films and CDs you like' thread, just to balance it out...;)

I didn't like Ghostbusters or any of the Airplane,Naked Gun type stuff.

Oddly, I love people telling me about scenes from this type of movie. That always makes me laugh. But the films themselves? Meh.

Same here. They're okay, but nothing special. Others:

-Titanic

-Godfather movies, Scarface, Goodfellas, etc.... (I like Untouchables and Copland, though -- it's all about the good guys, I guess)

-Any and all romantic comedies

-Harry Potter

Fast and the Furious I,II,III
Gangsta movies (except maybe Godfather I and II, Good Fellas)
Saving Private Ryan (or war movies in general)
Football movies (except Friday Night Lights -- that was such a great film)
Will Ferrell's comedies (I just don't find them all that funny)
The Da Vinci Code
most Ron Howard's schmaltz-fests (except Apollo 13 and Cinderella Man)

Everyone seemed to think the third Harry Potter movie was the best--I hated it. It was boring and awful.

Forrest Gump

never even saw Titanic and won't

Meet the Parents--I hate that sort of "oh ho ho, everything goes wrong!" kind of humor

I'm sure I'll add more later...

Agreed on the Meet the Parents stuff. I had to sit through one of them a couple of years ago. Might have been the second one. Who knows? It was shit.

I wouldn't necessarily call it popular -- critically acclaimed, yes. I happen to like it -- not love it, but like it. It's one of those "literary" character study things...

I just like seeing Bill Murray so world-weary. His character seemed so close to his real-life persona.

Oh yeah, and like aadams73 said - V for Vendetta suh-huh-huh-kkkkd.

Scary Movie
Any movie where they expect you to cheer for a scumbag that should be locked up and the key thrown away. Arnie's films Collateral Damage and Commando, for example.

There are others, but apparently too inglorious to bob through fragmented memory...

The unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of
Like a lot of folks, it's not specific films, it's type of films. Or specific actors.

I cannot stand:

Anything with Will Ferrel/Lesllie Nielsen/Jim Carrey/Adam Sandler/Ben Stiller or films of that ilk.

Anything with Tom Cruise.

Almost anything with Leo DiCaprio (Titanic included)

Pretty much anything 'starring' singers or wrestlers.

As a general rule, things that trade off the success of a good film. Day of the Dead 2 leaps, unbidden, to mind.

Star Wars - I used to like them, but whether I've grown up or seeing one of the new ones have soured them; I can't watch them anymore.

Top Gun.
Crash.
Jerry Maguire.
Gladiator.
Blood Simple - I love the Coens, I just could never get through it.
Any of the 'Saw' films (all torture porn, really).
The Life Aquatic.

Seconds to the Meet the Parents films (humiliation porn), Love Story, Good Will Hunting, and There's Something About Mary (which is missing the heart that's in their later films).
