Heya,
I'm writing a story involving the police force. My MC is part of LAPD, so I researched, but I still have some unanswered questions. Like for instance, my MC is supposed to be solving a serial killer case (that is possible, isn't it?), but how do police go about solving a case? I tried reading mysteries involving killings, but some bored me and I couldn't really understand most. Also, how are cases presented? Like do the bosses go straight to the point, or do they go over each detail they have? How are agents chosen to solve the case? Does the FBI or any other government agencies get involved in these kinds of cases? If so, why? If not, why not? How do police research on their cases? Thanx for helping me out!
