How long do you need to read the contest poems and make your voting decision?

Do you need to read them all and mull them over, or do you go with first impressions?

Do you tend to leave the voting for the last minute?

Your comments will help improve the Poetry Contests. Thanks!

One week is about right. That lets those who participate either mainly on the weekends or on weekdays have their normal access. It also allows someone who is away for a few days to still be able to vote.

I read them all at least once and write the numbers of the ones that really strike me. Then I re-read those particular poems again and choose my top three that way.

Me, too. And a week is long enough for me. (I can't stand the suspense any longer than that.)

A week works for me, generous Poet. Thanks for asking. And thanks for hosting another wonderfully thought out contest. You're the greatest.
