Hi All,
I'm a newbie but a long time reader of this forum. Great job. I love it.
I received a message about the "1st Annual Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards" at http://www.moonbeamawards.com/. It's from the Jenkins Group, which I know has been discussed in this forum.
I'm interested in your take on this Award. Like, for instance, what a book "wins" besides just the honor of winning. All they state is, "The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary children’s books and their creators, and to support childhood literacy and life-long reading."
$75 a book is pretty steep for authors and small publishers to pay for a chance to win an award that may take a few years to build recognition and legitimacy within the industry, if it's around that long that is.
Thanks,
C.A. Casey
