I, too, am apparently older than dirt. Or well read. Or something.

Waddaya talking about - over 40. More like over 80. Although I must admit I knew some of the answers because my mom told me.

Ditto. This made no sense to me and I'm 50. I do recall the dip-switch on floor thing, I think in a Ford Prefect that eventually met its demise upside down on the Swansea Road corner. Ahhh, those were the days.

I missed one--the Studebaker question. They were not considered "cool" cars.

I'm 38, and I got 6.

The purple ink and the green stamps both continued at least until the 70s, but as has been observed, some of these references were from the 40s, which would make someone have to be at least 60-70 to remember them.

For most of it, I had no clue. I guessed wrong on a couple, guessed Macaroni right, and only knew about the skate key because of the song.

I believe the food network and history channel have leveled the playing field on some counts. They've had some great shows on toys, candies, cars, & miscellaneous stuff.

...channels which not everyone has. Or would choose to watch if they did.

Ah, the mimeograph! I sure miss running copies of tests on those. We had them when I was in elementary school. The hand-cranks were especially fun.

I'd say I got right around 15 or 16, but I'm going to have to look up the test to be absolutely certain.

Ironically, I didn't get #1 right, because I was thinking 1920's model T's, which had the bright-dim switch on the dashboard. My first car had the dimmer on the floor, and it was built in 1977, so I didn't think 1940's automobiles would have them in the same place.

But I digress. Fun test. It brought back some fond memories.

These questions definitely aren't targeted at people in their 40's. However, I got 18 right and I'm 45. I blame it on growing up in my grandparent's house and having a good memory for wierd pop-culture trivia.
