It's a dark fantasy set in post-apocalyptic America. After a century of devastating plagues and war in the heavens, the world is suffering under an ice age. Thorn St Croix, a neomage, has to keep her nature secret or face being locked away with others like her in the enclaves. But when her ex-husband is abducted, she faces the threat of exposure.
The first book in the series is called Bloodring, and it was wonderful. Dark fantasy, but not the same-old-same-old that seems to be flooding stores these days.
