I noticed there is a thread for the worst but what are your all-time favorite tv shows? Here are mine:

1. Golden Girls -- I grew up on this show, and the characters reminded me of my Granny and her sisters. I have all but one of the seasons on DVD.

2. Designing Women -- Again, I grew up on this show and love it. I could watch it all the time.

3. House -- I don't miss it and TIVO every time it's on.

4. Three's Company -- I'm a huge John Ritter fan.

5. Strong Medicine -- It was a Lifetime series, but I loved it anyway.

6. Survivor and American Idol -- I'm ducking because I know many of you are not reality TV fans, but I love these two shows.

Hmmm. Of all time? Well, I was addicted to tv when I was a kid, so here goes (most likely in no particular order).

1. WKRP in Cincinnati
2. M*A*S*H
3. Get Smart
4. Bewitched
5. CSI (the original Vegas one)
6. Survivor
7. The Amazing Race
8. Billable Hours (obscure Canadian comedy: hilarious)
9. I Love Lucy
10. House

Good poll!

A few of my all-time faves:

MASH
WKRP
The Simpsons
Family Guy
Star Trek (The Original Series)

There are so many more, but the list doesn't include any reality series. (Except American Idol, at least until they get to the top twelve.)

How could I forget the Carol Burnett Show. One of my earliest memories is laying on the couch with my mom, watching it. I still love that show.

Homocide: Life On The Streets (best 1-hour drama ever on network tv)
St. Elsewhere
Hill Street Blues
Six Feet Under
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Star Trek - Next Generation
WKRP
Mary Tyler Moore Show
Barney Miller
NewsRadio
The Trailer Park Boys

Two, wonderful, lamentably short-lived sitcoms were Frank's Place (gotta love the name) and The Texas Wheelers. Both were clever and quirky when, unfortunately, predictable and jiggly were the flavours of the month.

5. M*A*S*H (especially the earlier episodes with Henry and Trapper)

I absolutely loved M*A*S*H through elementary and high school, but for some reason I can't stand to watch it now. Maybe it's how scripted and relentlessly clever the one-liners are, or maybe it's just the antiquated laugh track. The early shows were so much better before Klinger and Potter took on so much diologue. Taxi is kind of the same way - loved it as a kid, but can't stand to watch it now. Ironically, I loved adult comedies as a kid and now I love cartoons.

X-Files (I have a weakness for tortured men)
Forever Knight
Carnival
Six Feet Under
(do you see a common dark thread there?)
Mad About You (the earlier years, before the baby)
Rosseane (hated the last year, though)

I loved Mad About You. It came on while I was in high school, and I had a huge crush on Paul Riser (sp). I wanted to marry someone exactly like him (but didn't, lol.) I didn't like Roseanne while it was on at all, but I just started watching it again on Nick at Night and love it now.
