No need for the massive expense of acrobat pro, there are lots of utilities for exporing word files as PDF. (Open office is great for that, too, but has trouble importing highly formatted documents like scripts, I find.)
I use cutepdf, but have also used primopdf and a few others. They are free downloads. Once installed (and they often require that you also download and install ghostscript or some converter...not a big deal) the emulate a printer on your Word toolbar. Just hit print, select the program as the printer and go.
A script is a very simple thing for this type of rendering program. What's get complicated are graphics (not a big problem, although some won't handle windows backgrounds) or hyperlinks. A top of the line program (like acrobat) will reproduce the link just like in windows...clickable, same color, etc.
Some won't make it clickable at all. Some will render it as a live link if you've typed the URL as such : mybigfatscripts.com/thelma&louise2.pdf but if the link works off a tag such as THELMA AND LOUISE II then it won't click.
