My personal guilty pleasure band is AC/DC. Pity they didn't make the Rolling Stone cut.

Don't feel too guilty -- according to an article in the Sydney Morning Herald a couple of years ago (as I remember), Keith Richard thinks AC/DC's rhythm section does it the way it oughta be done.

I'll search for a link.

Well, maybe that's because you have nothing to feel guilty about. :) AC/DC is pretty cool.

Mine, on the other hand, is The Village People. I think that that may qualify me for the witness protection program. Or as an honorary gay man. I'm not quite sure which.

I feel guilty about liking the Scorpions.

I'd be ashamed to be seen in public if I liked Fall Out Boy as much as I like all things Simpsons, but luckily that isn't the case.

I was going to say, "Huh?" but a quick Google set me straight. Um, let's see... we were too busy listening to INXS?

It doesn't get much better.

'Nuff said.

Aww. *sniff*

Billy, I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not but thanks for posting that flashback to early Styx. (John Panozzo, RIP.) Great song.

Blacbird, you may not like Dennis DeYoung's voice (FWIW I think his voice is just fine) but the guy they got to replace him is ten times worse. HE makes me want to poke my eyes out. Thank God Tommy Shaw is still around. He has an amazing voice.

Odd, how on a list of 25 guilty pleasure bands I only see maybe 6 I'd actually feel guilty about.
Even more odd to me was Rush listed as a guilty pleasure. What's that all about?

I'm with Poet.

If I had written this list, I would have called it "Top 23 Bands to Listen to During a Suicide Attempt." It would only be 23 bands, since I wouldn't have put two them on my list. I'll leave you to figure out which they are (though the first person to say ABBA gets a mental thrashing like you wouldn't believe).

Why would Rush or Boston (or some others on the list) be considered a guilty pleasure?? There's a million bands who deserve to be on the list instead of them. Hall & Oats - now there's a guilty pleasure I keep locked away. I think my wife owns CD's from most of these bands (my WIFE, not ME!)

Believe it or not, but there are quite a few people who think 70s arena rock isn't something to be all that proud of.

I know - I don't believe it either.

Can't understand why Rush would be a guilty pleasure.

Also can't understand where there would be any pleasure, guilty or not, in listening to ABBA, Kelly Clarckson, Wham or Britney Spears.

1. Rush

Rollingstone magazine is a shadow of it's former self. What a rag! They used to cover good music, now their pages and covers are littered with every piece of pop drivel on the market.

Rush are a great band, and by no means a "guilty pleasure". They still sell loads of records and sell out venues whenever they tour. They've managed to change with the times, without compromising their music.

(As I write this, I sit here trying to figure out the opening bass line to 2112).
