We got 2 new(er) computers over the course of the last two years. They were both working smoothly until about a month ago. Ever since then, they've been screwing up all the time, and every virus detector and technician we consult claims there's nothing wrong with them and that still have plenty of free space on them.

Now, everyone I know who has a computer says their's is screwing up as well.

Is anyone else's computer acting up? Or is it an odd regional government conspiracy?

No, it's everywhere.

But it's no government conspiracy.

Microsoft Vista came out a month ago, remember?

First--Don't buy a computer with Windows Vista

Two--spend sixty bucks and buy McAfee virus scan... that will do the trick.

Three--if it's broke, deal with it.

My LAPTOP doesn't have a STD--it's got Windows XP and is a Centrino

Doesn't mean it doesn't have an STD. Denial is not a healthy thing, really. You should really have it tested. And a pregnancy test too...God knows you don't want to come in one day and find a little MP3 player you didn't know about...

I wouldn't admit you look at porn...might hurt your ego.

LMAO WTF???

Dude, I used to EDIT pornos. I'd look at pornos for HOURS everyday because it was my JOB. Why would it hurt my ego to "admit" I look at porn?

Or are you saying it would damage the way other people look at me? And make me less popular? And make people judge me? *quivers in mock terror* The horrors...THE HORRORS!!!

Truthful tips here

I have had no virus in over a year and half :D

Before that, i had over 100 dead hardrives. (Of course they, all have been modified now, to suit the one that's been working wonders)

Also, I don't go on websites that I don't need to go on.

P.S-Some Porn websites, are pretty good and don't attract any worms

Yes, because nakedness is a sin, and you'll contract viruses just by being sinfully nekkid.

You're probably a veritable cesspool of viruses by now... :D
Oh, no! I'm naked inside my clothes every single day!

On a serious note, if your computer is doing weird things, either it's on the verge of a breakdown, in which case you're a moron who deserves her fate if you don't back up everything important now, or you've picked up spyware, adware, malware, evilware, snerkware, snotware, and every other cutesy-named badware there is. Adult sites are indeed frequently the culprits, but not always, of course.

There's a solution available that's worked for all the computers we ever set up and operate online--that' 15 at last count, because god forbid we get rid of anything, no-o-o-o, we have to keep everything that ever enters this house, even if it breaks or becomes obsolete, because what if we need it?

Oh, sorry, got sidetracked there. Visit Nick and dance the security tango, following the steps exactly. It really works.
