The sun is shining, and though the grass is not green where I'm at, I can still feel that spring is in the air.
Share your spring poems here. Something old, or something new. Happy or sad, funny or mad, as long as it's related to the spring in some way.
I'll start us out with an old favorite of mine:
***
Pagan Rite
As evening fell I knew somehow
that it was not like other evenings,
and as a shadow touched my weary head
and traveled down my spine,
I knew that things would change
from now on.
Bring the light, bring the love, bring the fire.
Bring the healing pine needles from the mire.
Bring the clear crystal water of a brook of spring.
Bring me a sight stone and an old silver ring.
But when you have, then above everything -
bring me life.
As elemental forces danced around me
and as the whispers of demons sang of sinning,
my head cleared from the fog of ages past
and the present was all I could remember,
for all times were in that time,
and all choices.
Bring the sword, bring the shield, bring the fire.
Bring the treasures from underneath the mire.
Bring me a thousand of injustices and one right.
Bring the wisdom of the gods and all their might.
But when you have, and before I go to fight -
bring me life.
As the wolf and the banshee cried for freedom,
and the fish played in rivers and lakes,
and as the sun ruled supreme
in the far reaching sky,
I knew that things were a changing
from now on.
Bring the blood, bring the snow, bring the fire.
Bring the gold of the north from the mire.
Bring the steel of the mountains upon high.
Bring the secrets of the fey in a sigh.
But when you have, then before we say goodbye -
bring me life.

Have fun!
Love,
Tessa
