The publishing industry has resumed business for the year, as I have.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to break into '07 as a racehorse from the starting gate, but rather as a snail.

My backlog-incorporating a considerable amount of data to be gathered, standardised and analysed-has been completed. Though a torturous, three-month exercise, the result has been very worthwhile, and has liberated very useful information for my marketing and operational improvements. In turn, my Annual Review, planned to incorporate this data, has had to be put back.

Preparations for expansion and subsequent changes in direction have begun, but the pace of these has been slowed because of the necessity to undertake study and co-ordinate with others for practical skills development.

Other issues involving related financial and other unrelated legal matters have had to be dealt with, as well. Separately, I have also been able to put most of my house (literally) in order.

In the meantime, I am regularly provided work by my highest paying client, who seems very keen to have me continue providing them material.

I am 'chafing at the bit' to have everything done, but all the tasks and plans are either directly or indirectly interrelated, and seem almost to have determined the pace of implementation. It is but slowly and excrutiatingly unfolding.

All going well, during the next quarter I will realise fruition of these shorter-term plans, against that of larger and long-sought consolidation. It very much feels like trying to turn a ship of incredible length and bulk. We will see...
