book copies arrived

My contributor copies of an anthology I have an essay in arrived today. I thought I'd be over the moon, but it's just sort of a pleasant piece of mail, like a birthday card. Maybe it's tempered by the fact I also got a rejection today, and actually, I don't think I have gotten any acceptances so far this year. Oh, well, just the universe keeping things in balance I guess. ;)

It's nice though to put it on your bookshelf. Months from now it'll brighten your day when you come across it unexpectedly. I still feel better for seeing my copy of Stories of Strength:)

Congrats on the original sale - and just set fire to that rejection!

Well, I think I can top you! Today, I got my contributor copy in the mail (Letters to my Mother) and TWO rejections! Well, to top it all off, they didn't even send the right book; I got a copy of Teacher Miracles, not Letters to my Mother. So two rejections and somebody else's book!

But we're all in the same boat together; I know how you feel...
