What do you think hell and heaven are like?

Well, honestly, I've been to hell, aka Grace Land, aka known as my paternal aunt's Elvis-themed trailer in Green, NY (named such for its only significant feature, its grass; oh! and it also has an all-year Santa Claus village...for some strange reason). I've also been to heaven. But heaven's not really a place, it's a state of being, a state of being with Celia Cyanide, the most bodacious babe in the pretty-people pantheon [slathers on the sloppy sentimentality with a trowel]

One guy I work with has a theory that we're all in hell now, here on Earth, and when we die we'll actually be going to the next level. Yeah, he's a real gas to be around... :)

I always thought Hell was in Michigan, though...

Just off the top of my head--they're both in here...

It comes in small doses
milligrams of sneaking, peeking
looking the other way,
drops of taking, faking
instigating a fray

It challenges us daily
to keep rolling, cajoling
fight it off inside
seek reserving, deserving
conscience open wide

If I believed in heaven or hell, I'd have to say that heaven is full of wild sex and debauchery, and hell is standing in line at the DMV for all eternity.

I think like thethinker, only with different details. Heaven's wild sex, debauchery, and fantastic food and drink that doesn't affect my perfect figure (duh!). Hell involves an eternity-long evening with acquaintances sharing their slides of a boring vacation with little to do but snap pictures of the same muddy lake, during which they regale me with tales of the meals they ate at local restaurants, peppered with funny stories about people they know and I don't.

Maryn, who's visited both

Hell is being dealt the Ace, King, Queen and Ten of diamonds and the three of clubs in five-card draw, with all the other players going "all in." I don't have to mention what heaven is in this case.

Ever been to K-Mart or Walmart or any other place that ends with "mart?"

....well then, you know what hell is like.

I haven't checked the (good) book lately but I think the original mention of hell was actaully listed as Hellmart.

Hell is having the things you want within your grasp but not being able to grasp them. I don't know what heaven is like.

Hell is finding out the person before you farted in the elevator.

Heaven is wild sex with Jimmy Page in an elevator.

(Okay, I'm guessing on that last one.)

Hell definitely has that rage filled blonde boy from Naruto. It is the most irritating cartoon imaginable. If I had the choice of burning for all eternity or listening to that freak do his anger filled screech again I'd have to think about it. You can bet if there is a hell he is there tormenting everyone with his vile, evil cry.

Heaven is perfection. Perfect beach under perfect sky with the universe's most perfect buffet spread before you, and you won't gain pound 1 from whatever you eat.

Hell is the exact same place, and I'm ahead of you in line.
