Somehow I ended up in Fort Worth. Dunno how that h
Some of you will have seen this question on "other" boards.

however, I'm doing movie research for a future project, and I need some input from y'all.

What are some of your favorite romance films?

What are some that you think are the most iconic?

Buying lies and stealing jokes.
Debbie Does Dallas. :)

Seriously...? Okay, fine. I'm gonna' go with: a) Ghost b) What Dreams May Come. Both less than adequate movies, on many levels, but the saving grace is the "believability" of the strength of love.

My two copper coins.

I second High Fidelity, Lost in Translation, and Love Actually.

Also, I'd add The Princess Bride as my all-time classic romance favorite. :D

I avoid chick-flicks like the plague.

But . . . I'll second The Princess Bride.

Really surprised nobody's mentioned (I think) Gone With the Wind.

That one has to be in the top ten. Plus:

The Princess Bride
Casablanca
Romancing the Stone
Last of the Mohicans
Now, Voyager
Jane Eyre (the two most recent versions being among the best)
Pride and Prejudice
The Goodbye Girl
The Sound of Music
West Side Story/Romeo and Juliet
Grosse Pointe Blank :D

(ETA: Bull Durham. I watched it last night.)

Oh Pride and Prejudice. That's a really great romance. Shakespeare in Love is not bad.

Foreign films:

Like Water for Chocolate
Cinema Paradiso
Amélie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
