:hi: I have an English paper to do and I need some help with it.

I am supposed to create two metaphors about "a wasted life."
I am completely stuck for ideas... and so are those around me.

So if anyone would like to help, I would greatly appreciate it. :)

Btw, this is Amanda's friend, Holly.

Rather than just throw out metaphors and let you pick one, I'll try something else.

Start with "A wasted life is a . . . " or "His life is a . . . "

What things can you think of that are a complete waste? It could be waste of time, a waste of resources, something out of place or time, an irony, misuse, etc.

And remember, this is suppose to be a methaphor, not a simile.

Okay, I will throw out one or two to get you started.

A wasted life is a ship floundering on the sea. (Yuck)

A wasted life is a barren farm.

A wasted life is a touchdown scored after the game is over.

A wasted life is a book that's never read! ;-)

A wasted life is as the cat who studied ornothology and yet was never to meet the birds, for they were off studying to be marine biologists, a waste of time since all the fish had left to become botanists, which did them no good since the plants had become carniverous.

:D

I know. But it was too much fun to erase.

(anyway, since I'm not doing anyone's homework, it matters not)

But for the sake of our sanity, could we maybe call it a "hobby" instead?

Enjoyed that!

By the way, it's time to change facial creams. The brand you're using just isn't working.:D

No, it was not a plea for you guys to do her homework. I actually am Amanda, but I let my friend post using my screen name when I was unable to help her. I figured this would be the best place for such a thing. But actually the first person who posted help a lot and she was able to finish her homework. She thanks everyone who helped her very much. Thanks again. :)
