Things have certainly taken on a life of their own here--the universal word count has been dramatically increased because of you folks. I know that e=mc2, but I swear the earth is a tad heavier with all these words. Or something.

A big congratulations to Mr. London for completing his manuscript.

(I'll be back soon.)

I'm so glad you started these threads, because it's made a huge difference for me. :Sun: Thank you, and hope to see you soon!

Got lots of good progress on the revising last night. Curse these characters, they keep pointing out stuff I need to tear down and rebuild...but it's good because now for future novels I (hopefully) won't have to make dozens of revision passes to get it right. Hopefully I'm learning something about story construction from the start.

Here's to writing, in whatever form, every day. *clink*

30 articles ranging from how to be a lawyer to how to build a trebuchet to how to fight. I am SO FREAKIN TIRED right now.

I'm still in!

Also still in editing hell(which has been made easier by my totally fab new crit partner).

I'd like to be starting something new by the middle of the month, then I'll be tossing in my daily word count again :)

256 words -- Preliminary Application for Financial Assistance by Mother Hubbard's dog. Plus a bunch of IM brainstorming & bringing my little brother in on the game.

We're having entirely too much fun with this!

I got... *cough* 44 words yesterday...

Along with my 30 articles, but still... I was hoping to get ON TRACK on the first day of March.

And I haven't been repped in DAYS!!! *goes off to cry*

200 words last night.

Half the time was spent checking references for necessary info which plays a part in the story.

I have started a new novel, a sort of mystery-suspense-erotic horror piece. Lots of eccentric and downright weird people. I like weird characters!

Revisions going great. Crossed the halfway point of the ms today, going forward in one direction (which was welcome considering I've been going back and forth til now) and with the new clarifications, there are some scenes I can't wait to get to.

I had hoped this would be my last pass through it, but it's going to need at least one more. That's okay though, I still have time.

JD, that new novel sounds like fun! Good luck with it and have a blast! :D

AnnieColleen

No extra words, but put together (hopefully) the last pre-game piece for the murder mystery (newspaper with pertinent articles/letters). Probably more tweaking needed, but dunno what exactly.

:snoopy: Finished! With the penultimate revision pass! :D I'm going to force myself to let the ms sit for at least a day before I make another pass. In the meantime I have neglected short stories to work on. Again, revising, but it's revising of different material.

Yay for WildScribe, Annie, JD, Soccer Mom, and everyone else in this thread!!!

And 599 on the Flash Fiction challenge (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57160) -- short for me. I'm counting it (I usually don't) because it will fit nicely into my WIP! :D

Oh, and I wrote my query, blech!

18 articles today, all bread and butter. Maybe some words on my WIP tonight, but I'm gonna go READ for a little while. Cheesy romance, here I come!

Not doing so well with making myself leave the revisions alone for a day or two. I keep going back to it. I don't know if that's good or bad but there it is.

However I'm going to try again once I get this last scene shifted. It does need to sit and cook and I know it.

AceTachyon

100 words for Monday night. Cat had to go to the vet so most of the evening was used up.

We'll see how tonight goes.

WildScribe

Instead of writing, I got about a half dozen queries out. One of them was on spec, so I guess I did write an 800 word article. YAY!

And you can still type? My hands were shredded last time my kitties got unhappy! You are my hero.
No claws involved, thankfully. We keep their claws trimmed. Just lots of unhappy noises and yowls.

Male kitty has a bladder infection, on antibiotics right now, but is still uncomfortable. Female kitty (his sister) has been hissing and growling at him since he came back from the vet. Now he's retaliating by peeing in her favorite spots. As well as peeing in random places.

Egads...

If I get even 50 words during all this, I'll be amazed. At the moment, I'm following him around with a bottle of carpet cleaner and a roll of paper towels.

WildScribe
03-07-2007, 09:08 PM

03-08-2007, 02:44 AM
Yay Soccer Mom! :D

Aww Ace, I hope your kitty feels better soon. :)

I did it, I got that one last scene shifted and then I backed slowly away from the manuscript. I know I should work on other stories (I have two that are prime candidates) but I've been so focused on the WIP that my house looks like two little kids and a cat and a dog live here! :tongue So today I cleaned and I'll probably spend the forseeable future cleaning, since I want to come home to a clean house when we get back from out of town.

So I likely won't have any new words at all for a few days, but I'll be around. :)

582 on my WIP, plus a ton of work that I really didn't want to do. I avoid working on the weekends, but I got a ton of articles dropped in my lap yesterday and today. At least it's done.

ETA: Where is everyone else, today?

AnnieColleen
03-11-2007, 09:37 AM

Friday night: No words. But the male cat is better and both kitties are behaving and playing nice. They even sat in the papa-san together.

Today, Saturday: 1300 words and finished the first draft of the WIP (novelette).

Sunday will be printing pages and beginning edits/revisions.

Yay!

Wildscribe! Hope everything will be okay. :Hug2:

500 new words in a story for the Buckaroo Rodeo contest. (gotta have it done by Thurs if I'm gonna submit. Yeah. It could happen.)

Slight bits of editing on WIP. Good feedback from betas. Oh, and got a rejection in the mail for something I thought was a perfect fit. :( At least it was prompt.

03-13-2007, 05:26 PM
:Hug2: WildScribe! Prayin' over here. :)

Picked the revising back up yesterday. Going great but too dang slow. Less than a week til I go out of town. I had wanted things wrapped up completely so I could just come home, give it all a once-over, and kick it out the door. Just have to see, I guess. :) I'd rather be a little behind schedule than send something out that I regret.

AceTachyon

No new words but finished an article that has taken ages to complete! Phew! Tomorrow I will work on my WIP and do some greetings. I will, I will, I will!

Sent off a dozen queries for "Icing" and got back two rejections, then did some research for the next. (Tough job: going to hockey playoffs.) Started the new WIP yesterday and am at 1800 words.

1021 words and so far it looks like plain sailing. (It's when I get to around 30,000 that I start moaning that nothing is going right and I might as well give up and go to work for Taco Bell.)

:Sun: for everybody else, since I was a bad girl today and wrote absolutely nothing. ;)

JD, if you throw in the towel and go work at Taco Bell, I'll come every day as the Customer From Hell and make you wish you'd stuck with writing. ;)

I've been off the wagon for how long now? But, 1185 tonight (in the FF challenge of all things).

Back to it tomorrow, I hope.

Another 1,000 words. Called in sick to work today. Bad case of spring fever.

Spring fever...so were you outside to write, or inside? :tongue ;)

500 more words for me, which finishes off my added-in scenes, and back to polishing. THIS THING IS GOING OUT THE DOOR THIS MONTH IF IT KILLS ME!!!

I just finished my taxes... which DID almost kill me! ;)

555 words today. Plus got to exercise class, which would do me more good if a lady from church hadn't sent over a bunch of cookies!

Yay for done (& non-lethal) taxes!

1400 words and another rejection. At least they've all been kind rejections. Won't get any words done tomorrow; Tuesdays are spoken for.

666 words today -- the Number of the Beast. (Except that some scholars say that was a mistranslation. Tough! No one is going to change our minds after all this time!) Gosh, AnnieColleen we must have something in common, coming up with triplet numbers.

I had a short story the other day that came out to 444 -- it's a sign!

(Maybe we should try the lottery?)

More greeting cards but no WIP - I'll get there eventually. Hey, all these triple numbers are beginning to spook me!
