Yesterday I finished the ink edits of the first draft of my novel, Ghost Machine. I also agonized over about five days on how to best wrap up the final loose end of my main subplot. I wrote several different versions of what could happen until finally deciding on one that worked. It needs some revision, but at least that part's finished.
Today I start on page 1 and type in all the changes, making the necessary alterations/improvements/rewrites/additions/subtractions as I go along. I hope to have the second draft completed by mid-March, end of March if at the latest.
Then, of course, I'll go back to work on it to generate the third draft, which I hope will be close to completion, but probably not.
The story turned out really nice. It is a supernatural/techno-thriller, or techno-horror, I'm not quite sure what to call it. Whatever its category, it's unique. Here's a tagline: An amateur inventor creates a machine to catch and store ghosts, affecting his marriage and sanity. Or something like that. It's hard to sum up an entire novel in one sentence.
