This site is very international and out of interest which country are you from? (NOT where are you living now). The United States will probably make up the highest percentage, but I am intrigued to know about all the nations.

No matter how I do the poll there will be complaints. You've got a choice of English-speaking countries, and if that is not suitable select the appropriate continent/choice.

If you hail from two or more nations and cannot decide, then the poll isn't for you.

I've included India as English stands officially alongside the Hindi language.

I divided the United Kingdom into four countries as otherwise I would have 300 whinging posts from the Scots and Welsh.

Mine is pretty obvious since Tennessee is part of the United States (well, except for about four years back during the slight disagreement with the Union).

I've put England reluctantly since that's where I was born. Separating England, N Ireland, Scotland and Wales is like listing each of the US states separately - it's one country not four separate ones.

I know, whinge, whinge, whinge...

If you put "UK", it covers all four nations (they are nations contained in one country), and I don't think anyone would whinge. Welsh, Scots and Irish poeple don't like it when poeple assume them to be English. UK covers all four.

And India has twenty-two regional (official) languages, further than Hindi. :)

I'm sorry to inform you that Europe is not a country.

Indeed not. Neither, of course, is Central America.

I'm from Brooklyn, a dot of land that's part of the North American Continent, and one in which the United States refuses to admit owning.

:e2tongue:

I know about the UK, I know about India. (But Hindi and English are used for official purposes).
I don't know everything. But I can't list everything I do know. :e2hammer:

Thank you for voting and for all the comments. Keep 'em coming.

Perhaps you should divide continental Europe into four areas: Northern Europe, Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Southern Europe.

That would probably draw a clearer picture. The same could be done with Asia and Africa.

Perhaps Scandinavia? :D

:e2tongue:Next time I will do a poll with all the countries in the world. A lot of option buttons. But the number could range from 193 to 243. We'd still never agree.

That's what I like about this site. Everybody has their own opinion and isn't afraid to voice it. Makes it more interesting.

I'm from Louisiana, Baton Rouge to be specific. But I still just live in the U.S. How boring. :)

I think Texas believes that it's in Texas, so you will want to put that on your poll too. ;)

Nope. In Texas, we bury you with your guns and boots. It's the only honorable thing to do when a man needs killing.

I was obviously quoting the President of the NRA, silly. Sheesh!

Er. Former president, I suppose. Charlton Heston isn't president anymore, I don't believe.
