I thought by moving some thirty miles away, I'd be free of the cats. I haven't seen a single cat hanging around my front door for almost a month, and I was happy to be rid of them.
Oops, I spoke too soon. Last night, as I was coming out of Carl's which is across the street from where I'm living, I almost stepped on a cat that was waiting by the front door.
EKKKK! They're back and patrolling my motel for me to return. I went outside for a smoke and there was a black cat wearing a studded diamond collar prancing back and forth on the floor directly below me.
* don't look up, please *
No such luck.
A few minutes later the cat was on my floor. It stopped for a moment, smiled, and then sat back while I finished my smoke.
Oh well, I was getting ready to move again soon...
