Karaoke

In a recent chat we decided to experiment with online Karaoke. Technology isn't even close to making this a perfect option

but.......

An imperfect option is available. I have done it in Yahoo chat. It sounds terrible and the bandwidth is stretched to the limits. This is the perfect time to roust and ramble with your friends without being embarrassed because even Engelbert Bumpersticker would sound bad on this. BUT IT'S FUN!

Give me a week and I'll try to set something up.
Meanwile, message here if you want to try it, maybe next weekend if I can wrastle the main computer from the kids.

Get you a Yahoo ID and place it here to be added to the private list. Yahoo has never spammed me, make sure you uncheck options for "future newletters", "updates" etc. They only spam you through Yahoo....that's fair, it's free. A very occasional email to my home site happens but it is just to verify user ID>

Looks like Yahoo Messenger might be required. Before you get it, if you don't have, it give me a few days. I have a sacrificial computer I use for weeding out bugs. Yahoo Messenger likes to send things.

Stupid Yahoo toolbar shows up if you download it.

I'll work out how to get rid of it. Looks like nothing else bad happens. Yahoo toolbar isn't real bad but annoying to me. It is actually usefull blocking all pop-ups; except thiers....

eliminating Yahoo Toolbar

it's a piece of cake. It is not attached to the registry files.

1. Click on the “Start” menu on your Windows toolbar
2. Go to “Settings”, then to “Control Panel”
3. Select “Add/Remove Programs”.
4. Make sure the button “Change or Remove Programs” is clicked. (in other words, you are not "Adding / Changing Windows Components" or "Install New Programs")
5. Scroll down the list of programs and select “Yahoo! Toolbar”
6Click the “Change/Remove” button to uninstall the program
7. Follow the ongoing instructions

Reboot and it is gone.....magic.

You can sing if you want to. But I back burnered this for lack of interest.
I tried it and it doesn't wok well at all.
The technology is still too young to be a good vehicle for this type of thing.
Maybe in a couple months.......
