When you accidentally set a silicone baking sheet alight it turns to ash, not molten plastic.

And smells really, really bad.

I learned that my company would be missing payroll again, today, and that a deployment we should have finished three days ago is going to be done tonight.

I learned just how much I could dislike a job without leaving it immediately, let's just say.

I learned that I should pay more attention when buying cookies.

I picked up two packs without realizing that they were in fact orange choc chip. I hate orange. And I really want some cookies.

When creating multiple-table queries in the SQL View of Microsoft Access, the Jet engine query optimizer will ignore brackets and join the tables in the manner that it sees fit. This can cause...inconsistant results.

(Well you asked.)

That Pet Fresh carpet deodorizer does not smell fresh and also causes me to have an allergic reaction. And having to open your windows when it's 7 degrees outside is not recommended for your heating bills.

There, I learned 2 things today!

I learned that Larry King was married 7 times, which is more than King Henry VII, who was married 6 times.

Ol' Fashioned Girl
02-10-2007, 06:40 AM
That was Henry VIII who was married 6 times. Henry VII was only married once: to Elizabeth of York (War of the Roses fame), but he had 7 children with her. :)

That a tall co-worker is not necessarily a good volleyball player. For the second time in the history of my school, we lost the game against the senior class. I will have to retire promptly to save my pride.

Funny you should ask, today I learned what it's like to be a judge at a science fair! It was fun, my first time judging, there must have been 80 judges and 150 high school students presenting science projects.

Hahaha, oh it's done slid away alright.
I read an article dated Saturday Feb ?, all I saw was the Saturday part and didn't catch the date. (it's still Friday here-darn time zones!) it said she died last Thursday, so I assumed it was an old article and the demise occurred last week.
I guess you could say that now I've learned to stop skimming news articles.
But at least I can always count on someone here to set me straight.

I learned that Mr. Maryn thinks the newest ding on my minivan (presumably some tall SUV slipping in an icy parking lot and giving a glancing blow just below the rear window) may be a signal of some sort.

There's exposed electrical wiring, so I guess I shouldn't take it out when it's snowing. Dang it, I wanted both kids to be grown and gone before I needed another car, so I didn't have to always drive a freakin' mom-mobile...

Maryn, who learned she has image problems

And I didn't know yesterday, that my sister would bring me two expensive ornamental lamps for my living room this evening, as a gift.
