View Full Version : the shunned genre

I have to ask something. Most of the rejections that I recieve are because the agent says that they do not handle my genre. I make sure to check and while none specifically say that they do not handle horror, they do not claim that they do either. Is horror a difficult sell? Does anyone know of agents that definitely handle this genre?

Going to agentquery, I see 46 agents who list horror as a genre they represent.

you could also try spinning it as dark suspense. ????

Zumaya Publications calls it "Paranormal Suspense"

I like that term. It works. :)

make sure the listing says the agent handles horror, if that's what your story is. good luck!

I was reading somewhere just yesterday that horror is making a big comeback.

Now where was that?

Best of luck to you, Maverick! I love a good horror story.

I like the term dark fantasy or dark fiction. It makes it sound edgy :)
