I just updated my blog. No, not normally a big deal.

But, I just received an e-mail from the Family Services Supervisor for the Alzheimer's Association Resource Center telling me my article, "Alzheimer’s: Tips on Understanding the Disease and its Limitations," is very well-written.

Still not a big deal…

But… they asked to use it for publication as a handout at their education workshops and support groups. :D

I happily told them I would donate the article and to forward any payment to the Alzheimer’s Association Research Fund, and gave them permission to reprint the article providing they keep my byline and bio in tact.

This truly made my day!

ETA: They are using my article on their site with a link in the Alzheimer's Daily News here.

Congratulations jdkiggins! It’s great they want the article and great you gave payment to the Association. You are a generous person and it will come back ten-fold. Or is that two-fold? I can’t remember but it will be BIG. :D

That's great, Jo!

I've added you to my list of favorite Jos: Mother-in-law, Joan (pronounced Jo Ann), and my sister, Joanne (who I still tease by calling her Jo-Jo).

You'll have to guess the third.

Congrats!

Jo! That IS a big deal! My sister-in-law specializes in the area of dementia and memory loss in the Department of Neurology at a local teaching hospital... any chance I could get a link or a copy for her to read? :)

And congrats!

Excellent news. I'd love to read the article sometime. My dad's on his tenth year with Alzheimer's.

Wow, that's got to be such a great feeling, especially since you know your words will actually help people who are going through a hellish situation. I really admire your response too. Congrats!! :hooray:

That's sweet, Silver. you can call me JoJo anytime. I get shorty most, but people do call me Jo and JoJo. ;)

OFG,
Sure, it's on my blog, which is linked in my signature and it's also posted at Blogcritics.org.

I was just informed that the Alzheimer's Resource Center already posted a link to my article in their Alzheimer's Daily News. It's the link entitled, "Alzheimer's: Tips on Understanding the Disease." :D
