Standing Room Only

The following song, "Standing Room Only' represents the closest I've come to success in Songwriting. It was demoed at the Song Cellar in Nashville with vocals by Buddy Jewell and won 2d place country in the 2003 Billboard Song contest.

I was given a Publishing Contract for it in 2004, but the Publisher died a year later, and nothing ever came of it, (The contract itself would be expired by now, in any case).

It was standing room only from the time that the night began.

Hi Mike,

You arn't the first to be bothered by that line, (including myself), because it is at the least "dated", but it still means what I was intending to say, (that it isn't a lie) and in all the years since, I haven't come up with an alternative that fit as well.

Moreover, Since that demo was done professionally, rather than by me, It would be difficult and expensive to correct now, (although I might try to find a better alternative, if it was ever picked up for recording).

In any case, I'm glad you (and all the others who posted) liked it.

That's the point with all I write.
