My Daughter Turned 1 Today

And I don't know whether to laugh or cry. It's like she knows. She's been acting like such a big girl all day.

On the one hand, I'm so happy to see her growing up. There's so much she can do now, and she's got so much spunk.

But I'm also all weepy because it's all gone by so fast. To think she spent her first five days in the NICU, and how much everything has changed since then.

I'm like a roller coaster.

Oh!!!! Happy happy day to your wee one!!! I cried when my girl turned one...we also celebrate halfsies. On her six month, her eighteen month, etc., we have half a cake or pie and give her half of one present until her wholesies. It's a fun tradition!

I have a little sweetie (not my daughter) who just turned 12 and is now as tall as her mother. "But . . . but . . . it was only yesterday I was riding her around on my shoulders. How did this happen?" :-(
