I'll be holding you and your family in my heart. I know this is a difficult time for you. Your mother will probably need to be told over and over again that he's gone, which is a heartbreaking task. Many of us here have gone through the same thing and understand what you're going through. You have our deepest sympathy.

Grief is exhausting, so please take care of yourself--don't forget to eat and sleep and exercise, and talk to friends.

I hope that, as time passes, you'll be able to feel comfort in the fact that your father's final illness wasn't protracted, and you'll be able to remember with joy all the best things about him.
