Just because something got rejected that doesn't mean it doesn't have potential. There's just X amount of space while there's X+many more articles vying for that space.

I used to know a poet, he scraped together enough to buy himself a small apartment/flat but couldn't afford to decorate. Instead, he would take the rejection letters and paste them on the wall as wallpaper, they looked great! He also pasted his acceptance letters up in his writing room, it was the box room. Suffice to say, he decorated quickly with rejection slips, he always told me that to him it was a positive, showing that acceptance in any form is small and special, and that rejection was always better than being ignored.
