There's the Library of Congress: http://catalog.loc.gov/

But Amazon will often serve just as well.

I have the weekend. (grin)
I want to see if any other novel has the same title as mine.
I hope to submit it on Monday.

Ah... then I would definitely use Google. If your title is a phrase (not a single word) put the phrase in quotes. ie: "The Big Disaster"

But why worry about it? If your book's title is such that it is hard for publishers to accept, but they like the story, they'll just suggest a new title. They may not even suggest, but just change it. Really, all you care about is getting loads of money and winning the Pulitzer (and maybe the Nobel, Nebula, Hugo, etc) anyway.

Try Google Books.

You could try such things as http://www.lexile.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?view=ed&tabindex=5&tabid=67

But if it isn't on Amazon, go ahead and use it. There's no crime against using an obscure title. Any title famous enough to worry about, and most that aren't, will be on Amazon.

LOL Very true.
Actually, I'd settle for a hard cover book with my name as author.

Thanks, all.
You guys are great!
