I'm going to Barnes & Noble today with $60 in gift cards, and I have no idea what I'm going to buy! On top of that, I have a time limit as to how long I'll be able to shop.

I know I'm going to get Jenna's book, but after that I'm clueless.

Somebody help me (shameless plugs are welcome)!

You may want to give a hint as to what you might be interested it. Books on writing? Classics? Mystery? Fantasy? Romance? The Joy of Sex?

Oh Oh Oh, I know: Jackie Kessler's Hell's Belles.(B&N has it shelved in the Romance section) It's a really good read, plus Jackie(Dragonjax) is an AWer! (and her reviews have been excellent!)

This is the part where it gets really difficult.

I am looking at some writerly tools. I like fantasy. I like suspense/thriller. While I was pregnant I had an unusual craving for romance.

But I'm pretty wide open.

I was just looking for a couple of ideas. Then PeeDee and/or Spooky come around and high-jack the thread. It's how the system works in OP.

Have you visit the AW library yet? Plenty of books to give you ideas. How about Liam Jackson's Offspring? How about James D. Macdonald?

Jenna, as in porn star Jenna? What did she write about? Sex?

I say hit the reference books and Fiction/Lit sections.....you can always find something good....or the bargain section, always try and save a buck or two!

Okay. There were so many things that caught my attention. I could have spent weeks in the bookstore, and if only I had won the lottery.

Here are my purchases:

Would You Rather...? 365 Days of Absurd Dilemmas to Ponder (It's a calendar)
Medalon by Jennifer Fallon
Sometimes the Magic Works by Terry Brooks
Goblin Quest by Jim C. Hines
Cast in Shadow by Michelle Sagara
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
Talyn by Holly Lisle

They didn't have Jenna's book in the store, so I'm going to order it online. I did have a blast though.

If I was anything more than a "board fanatic" I might have known that. :)

Buy my daddy's book so we don't go broke and have to beg on the streets!

Oh right. Except I can't tell you who my daddy is. Because then you'll track me down and murder me.

Oh, well, I see you've already picked out your books. I've been meaning to buy Goblin Quest myself. The author is on AW, right?

Oh, is THAT where it is?? I was at B&N the other day and could not, for the life of me, find that book. Romance! No wonder - I don't do the Romance section.
