Which of these are correct?

Rebel Army or Rebel army

Yankee Army or Yankee army

Union Soldiers or Union soldiers

Without looking it up, I would guess . . .

rebel army (rebel army isn't really the name of the army)

Yankee army (Yankee is uppercase because it's a term for a particular group)

Union soldiers

But, what do I know. I'm getting sleepy.

rebel army or Confederate States Army

Yankee army or Union army or United States Army

My story is about two boys treking across the war-torn South from Helena Arkansas to The Shenandoah Valley in 1864. That is why the questions about Rebel Army, etc.
