View Full Version : 06 vs 07

Last year at this time I made a new year's resolution not to give up on my novel, no matter what.

So I sent queries out to 50 agents, getting 21 requests for pages (13 fulls, 8 partials). It's been revised a few times and is still being read by four of those agents.

So this year my resolution is not to forget about my non-fiction. Recently I sent out two queries to agents mentioning my fiction and non-fiction projects. Both agents asked to see only the non-fiction. So I'm figuring I'll stick to non-fiction in subsequent queries; if I can launch a new non-fiction book, maybe an agent will be more likely to look favorably on my novel.

But I'm wondering, if either of these agents want to offer me a contract for the non-fiction, what to do about the four agents reading the novel? How likely is it that I could get an agent for non-fiction and another for fiction?

Ah, you're way ahead of yourself I think.

First get an agent.

Then I'm sure he/she will be able to advise you what to do with whatever project he/she may not wish to represent.

Good luck with both projects.
