Are they first editions? Then you know she didn't get them at one price, otherwise one.

The tricky thing is, no matter what we say here, our judgement doesn't act as the official authority for what goes on in her head.

Compare these two:

"Honey, all these guys on the internet said you're a cheap turd and you owe me two more gifts."

"Honey, I am soooo lucky to be getting a sci-fi trilogy instead of a sweater this year. Star Wars fans all over the world who aren't getting any sexytime at all are mightily envious of me."

That's ONE gift, in three phases. In fact, if she were to buy you just one, it would be like getting EITHER a hand job OR oral sex OR a lap dance, but not all three and no climax either.

You could argue equally that each earring is an individual gift, if you were giving her two.
