Just wondering if anyone here enjoys Selby's work?Any favourites? Have you tried it and hated it? Go on, you can tell me. I'm your friend...

Last Exit to Brooklyn shook me up big-time when I first read it. Over the top, grand guignol, compulsively readable stuff.

Love Selby! Last Exit. Requiem. He's great and gritty and horrifying. His stuff makes for great movies, too. Arronofsky's Requiem is one of my faves.

Selby does a cameo in that. He's the prison guard mocking Wayans during the climax.

I agree steve, its v compulsive.

Yeah, Bottomless, I love it to. He wrote the screenplay for Requiem For A Dream too. It tastes sick and feels real and reads like a car crash in slow motion.

Have you read The Demon? I think it was his last novel.
