I don't have anything pithy to say. To me, he will always be the Frankenstein monster in Young Frankenstein.

I loved him in so many roles. I am glad he got to finish his Raymond run before the end, otherwise this would have been even more heartbreaking.

What? God damn it. he wasn't suppoesed to die.

I adored him as Young Frankenstein. I adored him on the X-Files, in one of the best written and acted episodes of the show. I loved him on Raymond.

:( I have nothing useful to say. I'm shocked and horribly saddened.

Awful!

I knew it was coming. He guested on Mind of Mencia recently and he looked twenty years older than he did on Raymond. He was funny, but his speech was clearly different. It was rough to watch. I hate that cool people get old and die.

Oh no. I loved Peter Boyle. Young Frankenstein is one of the few films that cranked my broken funny bone.

Funny, talented man.

This makes me incredibly sad. I loved Peter Doyle. Young Frankenstein is one of the funniest movies ever. A favorite has passed. Terribly sad.

Oh, Pete, I forgot about his X-Files episode. You are so right. It was really wonderful. Sad sad sad. I feel about as bad about this one as I did when Madeline Kahn died.

So sad :( His episode of XFiles was nothing short of amazing, like his entire career.

Dang. Just two nights ago my wife and I popped in our While You Were Sleeping DVD. The scene with Peter Boyle and Bill Pullman, where Bill is telling Peter he doesn't want to work for his dad's business anymore, was both funny and touching. More so now with this news. Pete, you were one of the good ones. Bon voyage.

he was a great actor with a lot of range. aside from his turns in young frankenstein and joe, i was most impressed with his small, but powerful, part in taxi driver, playing "wizard".

interesting trivia: he was once a monk.

That is my second all time favorite x-files episode and I think he won an emmy for it too.

"I'm not smiling, I'm wincing..." One of the best lines, given the scene.

I think I'll put in Young Frankenstein after Bones is over tonight.

RIP, Peter. You were truly one of the great actors of our time.

At least I can laugh when I see "Putting on the Ritz."

His X-Files episode was the best.

Holy crap, Marie!

Miss you, Peter. RIP.
