Sorry if I'm asking something that I should have seen in some obvious place, but I didn't see any answer so I'm asking it here.

Which level of mod is the right one to ask to move a post from one forum to another?

I was particularly thinking of this thread:

http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48883

In this forum:

http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=33

It looks like the sort of thing that probably should be moved, but, if that should be the case, I don't even know which level of moderator has that power.

All of the mods are all powerful, Jamie, and can move mountains if they wish, let alone a little ol' thread.

It's a coincidence I posted in the thread in question, but your suggested destination, Office Party, wouldn't be my first choice. What do you think of the Writers' Roundtable forum as a better place for this topic?

I would ask a Supermod.

I know that I can only move threads around and delete the ones in my own forum.

Yep, supermods and admins ("runs the joint") have the power to move threads anywhere; other mods can move threads that appear on their own board only.

You're right that that thread should be moved, but now I can't decide where to, either. I'd say either Writing Novels or the AW Roundtable. I lean toward novels. Second opinions?

I wasn't thinking of moving it to, but moving it away from. Not sure where, though.

Like Rhymegirl said, you can ask a Super Mod or Admin, or contact Yeshanu, who is the mod of that forum, and she can move it.

Also, reporting a post (by clicking on the little triangle under the person's username) will cause a message to go to the mod of that forum and the admin, I believe.

Hope that helps! (I, too, would go along with the suggestion of the Writing Roundtable forum or Novels.)

The triangle's for that too? Wow! I had thought it was just for spam and extremely abusive (such as, bad enough to constitute sexual harassment) posts.

Technically, you're right. But if you have tried other contact methods to no avail, it could probably be used.

Oh, wait - I thought it was the ejector seat!

Hey, Ray -- you know all those apologies I sent you? Never mind. :D

But you can still move mountains, Kathy. I've seen you do it several times.

Well, they were clashing with the sky tapestry.

Has anyone gotten in contact with the original poster? I think that'd be nice.
