So in the interest of exploring our own writing, and better understanding the relationship between how we write and how we think--I propose an experiment.
For one week, we'll volunteer to eschew our normal voice and our favorite words and our best tricks that we rely on all the time, in our AW posts.
The catch is--we don't get to say what those tricks are. The other people playing get to TELL us what they are, based on our posting history. The point is to develop and explore our individual relationships with our words, and also to get an idea for how others perceive our writing in general terms.
We'd sign up to play here in this thread, and discuss amongst ourselves what should be off-limits for each of us, and what some of the viable alternative techniques might be. For example, someone with a tendency towards long complex sentences with big words might experiment with sentences no longer than ten words, and words no longer than two syllables--and vice versa.
This is strictly for fun and education and working on our chops as writers.
You guys game?
