The American secret service was bugging Princess Diana's telephone conversations without the approval of the British security services on the night she died, according to the most comprehensive report on her death, to be published this week.

Among extraordinary details due to emerge in the report by former Metropolitan police commissioner Lord Stevens is the revelation that the US security service was bugging her calls in the hours before she was killed in a car crash in Paris.

Friggin Clinton.

'Nuff said on that.

On the issue of Henri Paul...

The report says he was drunk..

yeah...duh...we knew that a week after the crash.

yes, I've had a few drinks...but I'm getting tired of conspiracy theorists actually wasting our time and our money with their ridiculousness.....

Every news site tonight...

"Henri Paul was Drunk!"

yes, we know!!!

DUH!!!

Why is this still being investigated?

This moron was drunk...he sped away from the paparazzi, lost control of the car and smashed into a pole.

That's it.

Why is that sooooo hard to believe?

AHHHH!!!!

Thank you and goodnight.

It's not a non-sequitor....Clinton was in charge.

Why in god's name was he spying on Lady Di, our gorgeous Princess of love?

How dare he?

This is where my tax dollars were spent?

Spying on Lady Di?

Clinton should be impeached in retrospectism.

I think he was actually.

holla!

Love ya, Bubba!!

Sorry 'bout that!!!

Oh, but we don't need to worry about Homeland Security tapping phones and intercepting e-mail. Just ask Thrillsy.

That's right.

Lady Di, god knows why they were tapping her, isn't Howard Frankelberg in Jeantin, North Dakota.

Believe it or not, we don't have the resources to listen to 300 million Americans for no reason.

We listen to people, the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security thinks might be up to no good.

Like I've said, multiple times..let me know when Bob Everyman has his phone tapped for no apparent reason and is arrested for cock fights in his backyard.

I promise you, I will march on Washington with you.

I don't think they gave a rat's ass about Diana's conversations. Maybe it was:

http://911review.org/Alex/Diana_Fayed_Adnan-K_CIA.html

After the death of the Princess of Wales in 1997, the
press noted in passing that Adnan Khassoghi is the
brother-in-law of Mohamed Al-Fayed, a former business
partner of one El-Amira Atta, the father of the
accused airline hijacker. Fayed was a veteran of the
American Pinay Circle that recruited Adnan into its
ranks. Back in 1953, GHW Bush, whose name would be
linked to Khashoggi's in the Iran-contra affair, and
Al Fayed were directors of the Singer Sewing Machine
company.

However, but two years prior, Iran was said to have
dealt covertly with one underworld figure on intimate
terms with Al Quaeda, namely Adnan's brother-in-law,
Al Fayed, Poppy Bush's old ally at Singer. In April
2002, the prestigious French newspaper Le Journal du
Dimanche reported this week that Fayed was under
investigation by Intelligence bureaus in France and
Portugal for his role in the illegal procurement of
Uranium-235, sold to Iran in August 2001: "Al-Fayed
was implicated in the deal to provide Iran with the
material with which to build atomic weapons by his
Portuguese partner, Jose dos Santos Ferreira [an
evangelical pastor and founder of the Khárisma
Church[, 46 years old, a resident of Porto, in whose
residence investigators found the originals of faxes
discussing the deal in detail between himself and
Al-Fayed. In the documents, which are in English,
Santos Ferreira speaks about his Russian contacts and
discusses also the problems which would arise were the
shipments made through Paris." Fayed had long been
kept under scrutiny by British intelligence services.
Acting on Information from MI-6 (British CIA) the
French DST (Intelligence Service) discovered
quantities of uranium in the possession of one Serge
Salfati. Salfati and other members of the Al-Fayed
smuggling ring, Yves Ekwalla and Raymond Lobe, have
been detained in France and may be charged. According
to the examining magistrate, Al-Fayed may also be
charged. Intelligence sources in France and Israel
have revealed that evidence in their possession places
Al-Fayed as a member of a group of wealthy Arabs
living in the United Kingdom who have been engaged in
the clandestine funding of Hamas, Al Qaeda, and more
recently, the Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigade."
UK's Sunday Telegraph ran the story but was forced to
retract when it was flatly denied by Mohammed
Al-Fayed, who claimed that the newspaper had a
"vendetta" against him.

What do you think, Billy? Totally accurate or not, verifiable or not, do you think there was enough probable cause circulating in intelligence circles to tap their phone?

No, but her boyfriend was the son of an extremely wealthy and influential Arab. If dad was involved in some of the stuff that's been alleged, the son was probably involved some, too. Father and son call each other on the hotel phone, maybe exchange some seemingly innocent conversations about places or people, new players emerge that need to be watched, etc.
