WhyWas JOJOTHEMANTaken

I was curious what the statute of Limitations on script plgerism is. I've tried google, and governmental sites, I haven't even found a slight reference to a time frame I've got.

You haven't found anything because you're asking the wrong question.

A "statute of limitations" is a law limiting the time in which legal action can be taken against a person/group. For instance, if you've been wrongly fired from a job, and the statute of limitations for wrongful termination claims in your state is 2 years, then you have 2 years to take legal action against your former employer. After 2 years, you can't bring this type of legal action against them. You needn't concern yourself with this unless you're planning on plaigarising, which I hope you're not.

I believe you're asking for the length of copyright on a literary work. If memory serves me correctly, then if the work was copyrighted before 1978, then it is 75 years. After 1978, it is for the duration of the life of the author plus 50 years.

It may have changed in recent years, though.
